Carson Injury Cases We Handle
Carson Personal Injury at a Glance
- Core corridors: I-405 San Diego Freeway running northwest-to-southeast across the city, I-110 Harbor Freeway forming the western boundary, SR-91 Artesia Freeway forming the southern boundary, Avalon Boulevard as the principal north-south arterial bisecting central Carson, Carson Street as the principal east-west arterial, Sepulveda Boulevard, Wilmington Avenue, Main Street, and Figueroa Street.
- Court venue: Carson civil and criminal matters route to the Compton Courthouse at 200 W. Compton Boulevard in Compton, which serves the Southwest District of Los Angeles Superior Court and covers Carson; unlimited civil personal injury cases (any case seeking more than $35,000 under Code of Civil Procedure section 85) are filed in the district where the collision occurred and assigned for all purposes to an Independent Calendar department; the Spring Street Personal Injury Hub stopped receiving new personal injury filings on January 8, 2024.
- Law enforcement: Carson does not maintain its own police department and contracts patrol services with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department; LASD Carson Station at 21356 S. Avalon Boulevard in Carson investigates city-street collisions on Avalon Boulevard, Carson Street, Sepulveda Boulevard, Wilmington Avenue, Main Street, Figueroa Street, and the other Carson arterials, while the California Highway Patrol investigates collisions on the I-405, I-110, and SR-91.
- Demographics: Approximately 96,000 residents across roughly 19.2 square miles in a Southwest Los Angeles County industrial-and-residential city home to California State University Dominguez Hills, the Goodyear Blimp base, and the Dignity Health Sports Park; intake is conducted in English and Spanish-language interpreter support is available throughout the case.
- Notable case pattern: The October 23, 2024 fatal pedestrian collision on the I-405 southbound near Avalon Boulevard at approximately 3:00 a.m. (a woman was struck and killed after exiting her stopped vehicle on the freeway, per RTM Law Firm and ABC7 Los Angeles reporting) is illustrative of the catastrophic-injury risk on the I-405 in the Carson band during overnight hours and on stopped-vehicle scenarios.
Yaghmai Law Firm represents individuals and families injured in Carson, California – the Southwest Los Angeles County industrial-and-residential city bordered by Compton and Rancho Dominguez to the north, Long Beach to the east, Wilmington and the Port of Los Angeles area to the south, and Torrance and Harbor City to the west. Carson sits at the confluence of three major freeways (the I-405 San Diego Freeway, the I-110 Harbor Freeway, and the SR-91 Artesia Freeway) and is a primary corridor for freight traffic moving between the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and the regional distribution network. That freeway-and-freight geography is the dominant driver of the Carson injury collision pattern Yaghmai Law Firm sees: catastrophic crashes on the I-405, I-110, and SR-91 in the Carson band; commercial-truck collisions along Avalon Boulevard, Wilmington Avenue, and Sepulveda Boulevard feeding the port complex; and arterial crashes at the signalized intersections along Carson Street and Avalon Boulevard. Houtan Yaghmai, Esq., President and Managing Attorney, handles every Carson file personally – from initial scene reconstruction (LASD Carson Station for city streets, CHP South Los Angeles Area for the freeways) through demand, mediation, and trial preparation.
Carson is one of several Southwest LA County cities that does not maintain its own police department and instead contracts patrol services with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department – the same arrangement Compton, Lakewood, Cerritos, Bellflower, and Norwalk use. That single fact changes how a Carson injury investigation runs: city-street collisions are documented through LASD Carson Station at 21356 S. Avalon Boulevard rather than a Carson city police department, and the report-retrieval workflow runs through the LASD records system instead of a city records desk. We have direct working relationships with the LASD Carson records desk and can usually get a Carson city-street collision report within 7 to 10 business days from request. For I-405, I-110, and SR-91 freeway collisions in the Carson band, the investigating agency is the California Highway Patrol South Los Angeles Area office, and we file the CHP report request immediately so the basic collision report is in hand within roughly 10 business days, with the Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team supplemental report (on catastrophic crashes like the October 23, 2024 I-405 at Avalon Boulevard pedestrian fatality) tracked separately because it can take six to twelve months to release.
We are a Sherman Oaks-based firm but we have built our Carson practice around a remote-first intake model that does not require Carson clients to drive up the I-405 to our office. Initial consultations are by phone, text, secure video, or e-signed documents; medical record requests, LASD Carson Station report retrieval, and CHP collision report ordering are all handled by our team in-house. When a Carson file goes to litigation we appear at the Compton Courthouse (Southwest District, 200 W. Compton Boulevard in Compton) on motions in limited civil and at the courthouse for the district where the case is filed for unlimited civil personal injury matters.

Types of Carson Personal Injury Cases We Handle
The Carson files Yaghmai Law Firm sees fall into six recurring patterns. Each pattern has its own evidence-collection rhythm, its own defendant set, and its own typical valuation arc – so when we open a Carson intake we are already routing the file toward one of these tracks within the first 48 hours.
- I-405 San Diego Freeway crashes through Carson. The I-405 runs northwest-to-southeast across Carson and is the dominant catastrophic-crash corridor we see in the city. The October 23, 2024 fatal pedestrian collision on the I-405 southbound near Avalon Boulevard at approximately 3:00 a.m. (a woman was struck and killed after exiting her stopped vehicle on the freeway, per RTM Law Firm and ABC7 Los Angeles reporting) is representative of the freeway’s catastrophic-injury profile during overnight hours and on stopped-vehicle scenarios. CHP South Los Angeles Area investigates I-405 collisions in the Carson band. We pull CAD logs, MAIT supplemental reports when available, EDR data from involved vehicles, and Caltrans freeway-management camera footage within 48 hours on every catastrophic I-405 Carson file. Stopped-vehicle and disabled-vehicle freeway cases trigger a parallel analysis of CVC 22500 (no parking on freeway), CVC 22651 (towing of disabled vehicles), and CHP scene-management protocols.
- I-110 Harbor Freeway and SR-91 Artesia Freeway crashes. The I-110 forms Carson’s western boundary and the SR-91 forms its southern boundary, creating two additional high-volume freeway corridors that funnel port-bound and commuter traffic across the city. The I-110 / SR-91 interchange at the southwest corner of Carson is one of the highest-incidence freeway-to-freeway weaves in the South Bay, and the I-405 / I-110 interchange at the north end of Carson generates a separate stream of weave-and-merge collisions. CHP South Los Angeles Area is the investigating agency on every I-110 and SR-91 collision in the Carson band. We pull EDR data, CHP CAD logs, MAIT supplemental reports, and Caltrans camera footage within 48 hours on every catastrophic I-110 or SR-91 Carson file.
- Avalon Boulevard arterial crashes. Avalon Boulevard is the principal north-south arterial through central Carson, running from Wilmington and the Port of Los Angeles area north through Carson into Compton. The LASD Carson Station itself sits on Avalon Boulevard at 21356 S. Avalon, which puts heavy law-enforcement and emergency-vehicle traffic onto the corridor in addition to the regular commuter mix. Recurring crash patterns: left-turn-into-oncoming broadside collisions under permissive left-turn phasing at Avalon and Carson Street, Avalon and Sepulveda Boulevard, Avalon and 213th Street, and Avalon and Del Amo Boulevard; rear-end collisions at signal cycle-end queues; and pedestrian strikes at signalized crosswalks under CVC 21950. LASD Carson Station is the investigating agency; we pull traffic collision reports and Los Angeles County Public Works signal-timing records within 48 hours.
- Commercial-truck cases on Wilmington Avenue, Sepulveda Boulevard, and Carson Street. Carson is a primary freight corridor between the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach and the regional distribution network, and Wilmington Avenue, Sepulveda Boulevard, and Carson Street all carry significant container-truck traffic feeding the port complex. Commercial-truck collisions in Carson trigger Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration records preservation under 49 C.F.R. Part 395 (hours-of-service) and Part 396 (vehicle maintenance and inspection), plus California Vehicle Code 34500-34520 commercial-vehicle standards. We send FMCSA spoliation letters within 72 hours on every commercial-vehicle Carson file to preserve electronic logging device data, driver qualification files, post-crash drug and alcohol testing results, and the carrier’s roadside-inspection history through SAFER and FMCSA Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) data.
- Carson Street east-west arterial crashes. Carson Street is the principal east-west arterial through the city, running from the I-110 on the west across Avalon Boulevard, Main Street, and Figueroa Street to the I-405 and the Long Beach line on the east. It carries a high concentration of commuter and commercial traffic and the signalized intersections at Carson Street and Avalon Boulevard, Carson Street and Main Street, Carson Street and Figueroa Street, and Carson Street and the I-405 on/off ramps are recurring crash sites. Pedestrian and bicycle activity is concentrated at the South Bay Pavilion mall, California State University Dominguez Hills, and the Dignity Health Sports Park venue. LASD Carson Station investigates these city-street collisions; we pull traffic collision reports, signal-timing records, and event-day camera footage from the Sports Park and Pavilion within 48 hours.
- Rideshare, delivery, and uninsured motorist Carson cases. Carson sits between the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, the I-405 / I-110 / SR-91 freeway triangle, and Long Beach Airport, which makes it a significant rideshare and last-mile delivery corridor. Uber and Lyft drivers running port-area, airport, and Sports Park event pickups generate a steady stream of intake files, as do Amazon, FedEx, and UPS delivery operations along the Carson arterials. Rideshare crashes in Period 2 (en route to passenger) or Period 3 (passenger on board) trigger a one-million-dollar per-incident commercial liability layer under California Public Utilities Code 5440-5444; delivery-vehicle crashes trigger FMCSA spoliation if the vehicle is over 10,001 pounds gross vehicle weight rating. For uninsured-driver Carson crashes, we pull the client’s auto policy declarations page on every intake to confirm UM/UIM coverage limits under Insurance Code 11580.2 and stacking eligibility.
Why Carson Cases Need a Personal Injury Attorney
Carson personal injury cases are not a fungible commodity. The defendants, the insurance carriers, the investigating agencies, and the discoverable evidence layer all change depending on where in Carson the crash happened and what type of vehicle was involved.
On the I-405, I-110, and SR-91 the investigating agency is the California Highway Patrol South Los Angeles Area. CHP collision reports run a different format and timeline than LASD reports – the basic collision report is usually available within 10 business days, but the Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) supplemental report on catastrophic crashes (like the October 23, 2024 I-405 southbound at Avalon Boulevard pedestrian fatality) can take six to twelve months and often is not released until after litigation has begun. We track CHP report release dates internally and refile public records requests if the initial release is incomplete or if the supplemental MAIT report has not arrived by the discovery deadline.
On the city streets – Avalon Boulevard, Carson Street, Sepulveda Boulevard, Wilmington Avenue, Main Street, Figueroa Street, Del Amo Boulevard, 213th Street, 223rd Street, and the other Carson arterials – the investigating agency is the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Carson Station at 21356 S. Avalon Boulevard, which provides contract law enforcement to Carson. LASD Carson Station files traffic collision reports through the LASD records system. We work directly with the LASD Carson records desk on report retrieval and can usually get a Carson city-street collision report in 7 to 10 business days from request, and we cross-reference the report number against the city’s Public Records Act response if signal-timing or traffic-engineering records are also needed.
Insurance carrier mix in Carson skews heavily toward State Farm, Mercury, Geico, Progressive, Allstate, and AAA for personal-line auto policies, with a notable share of Bristol West, Anchor General, and Infinity in the non-standard-auto submarket common in the port-area workforce. On commercial lines we routinely encounter Old Republic, Travelers, Sentry, Liberty Mutual, and Great West on the regional port-trucking fleets, plus Protective Insurance and Progressive Commercial on smaller drayage and last-mile operators. Each carrier has its own claims-handling rhythm and its own evaluation algorithm; the Carson file that gets settled is the one where the demand package is structured to that specific carrier’s template, with claim values supported by the medical records and economic analysis the carrier’s reserve committee expects to see.
Compensation in Carson Personal Injury Cases
Carson personal injury verdicts and settlements follow Los Angeles County personal injury valuation norms but with two Carson-specific adjustments worth flagging.
Venue valuation. Unlimited civil personal injury cases (any case worth more than $35,000 under Code of Civil Procedure section 85) are filed in the district where the injury occurred, based on the address and zip code of the crash, and assigned for all purposes to an Independent Calendar department that manages the case from filing through trial. The Compton Courthouse at 200 W. Compton Boulevard handles limited civil (under $35,000), criminal, family law, traffic, and probate for the Southwest District.
Wage-loss arithmetic for Carson’s port-and-industrial workforce. Carson is a port-economy city: a substantial share of Carson residents work in port logistics, drayage trucking, warehousing, refinery operations, and the regional industrial cluster running from the Port of Los Angeles north along the I-110 and I-405. That means past-and-future lost earnings claims on a Carson file frequently turn on shift-dependent, overtime-dependent, or physical-labor positions where a soft-tissue injury or a moderate orthopedic injury creates real wage loss that a sedentary-worker plaintiff would not have. We retain a vocational economist on every Carson case with a meaningful wage-loss component, and we document the client’s shift patterns, overtime history, and physical job demands to support both economic and non-economic damage claims.
Recoverable damage categories in a Carson personal injury case track California Civil Jury Instructions (CACI) 3900-series: past and future medical expenses, past and future lost earnings (including loss of earning capacity), past and future pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, and – in wrongful death cases – loss of love, companionship, comfort, care, assistance, protection, affection, society, moral support, and (in survival actions) the decedent’s pre-death pain and suffering plus economic loss.
California Law That Applies to Carson Personal Injury Cases
The Carson personal injury file lives at the intersection of statewide California statutory law and case law. The core authorities we cite in nearly every Carson demand package and complaint:
Negligence per se. Most Carson vehicle-on-vehicle cases run a Vehicle Code violation as the predicate for negligence per se under Evidence Code 669. The most common Carson-applicable violations are CVC 22350 (basic speed law), CVC 21703 (following too closely), CVC 21801 (left turn yield – especially relevant on Avalon Boulevard and Carson Street permissive-left intersections), CVC 21453 (red light), CVC 21950 (yield to pedestrian in crosswalk – the predicate violation in many Carson pedestrian strikes including the October 23, 2024 I-405 at Avalon Boulevard pedestrian fatality), CVC 22107 (unsafe lane change), CVC 22500 and 22651 (stopping and parking on freeways – directly relevant to the October 23, 2024 stopped-vehicle freeway fatality), and on the port-truck corridors, CVC 34500-34520 (commercial vehicle standards) plus 49 C.F.R. Part 395 (hours-of-service) and Part 396 (vehicle maintenance).
Statute of limitations. Code of Civil Procedure 335.1 sets a two-year limitation for personal injury. Government Code 911.2 sets a six-month claim-presentation deadline if any public entity is potentially liable – for example, Caltrans for an I-405, I-110, or SR-91 roadway-design or signage claim, Los Angeles County Public Works for a signal-timing claim on Avalon Boulevard or Carson Street, the City of Carson itself for a sidewalk-defect or public-property hazard claim, or the Port of Los Angeles or Long Beach for a port-roadway claim. Missing the six-month government-claim deadline ordinarily extinguishes any claim against that public entity, even though the two-year private-party deadline is still open.
Comparative fault. California uses pure comparative negligence per Li v. Yellow Cab Co. (1975) 13 Cal.3d 804. Even a Carson plaintiff judged 90 percent at fault can still recover 10 percent of damages; insurance carrier early valuations frequently overstate plaintiff comparative fault and we challenge that allocation at every step. The October 23, 2024 I-405 pedestrian-exiting-stopped-vehicle fatality is the kind of case where the carrier will reflexively assign high plaintiff comparative fault under CVC 22500 – we challenge that assignment with CHP scene reconstruction, lighting analysis, and the carrier’s failure to credit any oncoming driver’s own duty under CVC 22350.
Damage caps and apportionment. Civil Code 1431.2 (Proposition 51) apportions non-economic damages by fault among multiple defendants; economic damages remain jointly and severally liable. MICRA (Civil Code 3333.2, with the 2023 indexing) caps non-economic damages only in medical malpractice and does not apply to ordinary Carson motor-vehicle cases.
Local Driving Routes and Hazards in Carson
These are the recurring Carson corridors and intersections we screen for whenever we open a new file. If your crash happened on one of these, we already know the road geometry, the signal phasing, and the historical incident pattern – which compresses the investigation timeline by weeks.
- I-405 San Diego Freeway at Avalon Boulevard. The I-405 runs northwest-to-southeast across Carson and the I-405 / Avalon Boulevard interchange is the recurring catastrophic-crash node we see in the city. The October 23, 2024 fatal pedestrian collision on the I-405 southbound near Avalon Boulevard at approximately 3:00 a.m. (a woman was struck and killed after exiting her stopped vehicle on the freeway, per RTM Law Firm and ABC7 Los Angeles reporting) is the most recent verified high-severity incident at this exact location. CHP South Los Angeles Area investigates I-405 collisions in the Carson band. We pull CAD logs, MAIT supplemental reports when available, EDR data, and Caltrans freeway-management camera footage within 48 hours on every catastrophic I-405 Carson file.
- I-110 Harbor Freeway and SR-91 Artesia Freeway boundary corridors. The I-110 Harbor Freeway forms Carson’s western boundary and the SR-91 Artesia Freeway forms its southern boundary, creating two additional high-volume freeway corridors that funnel port-bound and commuter traffic across the city. The I-110 / SR-91 interchange at the southwest corner of Carson is one of the highest-incidence freeway-to-freeway weaves in the South Bay, and the I-405 / I-110 interchange at the north end of Carson generates a separate stream of weave-and-merge collisions. CHP South Los Angeles Area is the investigating agency. We pull EDR data, CHP CAD logs, MAIT supplemental reports, and Caltrans camera footage within 48 hours on every catastrophic I-110 or SR-91 Carson file.
- Avalon Boulevard north-south arterial through central Carson. Avalon Boulevard is the principal north-south arterial through Carson, running from Wilmington and the Port of Los Angeles area north through Carson into Compton. The LASD Carson Station itself sits on Avalon at 21356 S. Avalon Boulevard.
- Carson Street and Sepulveda Boulevard east-west arterials. Carson Street is the principal east-west arterial through Carson, running from the I-110 across Avalon Boulevard, Main Street, and Figueroa Street to the I-405 and the Long Beach line. Sepulveda Boulevard parallels Carson Street to the south and feeds the port-bound commercial-truck traffic from the I-110 into Wilmington Avenue. Both corridors are heavy commercial-truck routes, and the signalized intersections at Carson Street and Avalon Boulevard, Carson Street and Main Street, Carson Street and Figueroa Street, Sepulveda and Avalon, and Sepulveda and Wilmington are recurring crash sites. LASD Carson Station investigates city-street collisions; we pull traffic collision reports, signal-timing records, and FMCSA driver/vehicle records on every commercial-vehicle Carson Street or Sepulveda Boulevard case.

Why Hire Yaghmai Law Firm for a Carson Personal Injury Case
Carson clients pick us for the same reason clients across Southwest LA County pick us: small enough that the lead attorney handles the file directly, large enough that we have the medical, accident-reconstruction, and economic-expert relationships to take a case to verdict if the carrier refuses fair value. Houtan Yaghmai, Esq., does not delegate Carson files to junior associates or paralegal-driven document mills.
“Most of my Carson clients have already tried to deal with the insurance company themselves and gotten nowhere. That is a normal place to start. We pick it up from there.”
— Houtan Yaghmai, Esq., President & Managing Attorney
We handle every Carson file remotely by default – phone, secure video, e-signature – so a Carson client recovering from an I-405, I-110, SR-91, or Avalon Boulevard crash does not have to drive up the I-405 to our Sherman Oaks office to retain counsel. Intake is fast, the fee structure is contingency (we are paid only out of recovery), and Houtan personally signs every demand package that leaves the firm.
Carson Car Accident and Truck Accident Lawyer
A large share of the Carson injury cases we handle start on the freeways – the I-405, I-110, and SR-91 all cross the city – or with a port truck on Wilmington Avenue, Sepulveda Boulevard, or Carson Street. A car or commercial truck crash calls for a more specific playbook than a general injury claim: the CHP or Sheriff collision report, event data recorder downloads before the vehicle is repaired or scrapped, and for container haulers the driver logs and maintenance records that federal motor carrier rules require companies to keep only for limited periods.
We send preservation letters immediately, work up fault with the physical evidence, and pursue every layer of coverage – the driver, the motor carrier, and your own underinsured motorist policy when the at-fault side cannot pay. The terms are the same as every case we take: no fee unless we recover.

Carson Personal Injury Frequently Asked Questions
Which courthouse hears my Carson personal injury case?
It depends on the case value. Limited civil cases (under $35,000) and most criminal, family law, traffic, and probate matters for Carson residents are heard at the Compton Courthouse, located at 200 W. Compton Boulevard, Compton, CA 90220 – this is the Southwest District seat and covers Carson, Compton, Paramount, Lynwood, and surrounding cities. Unlimited civil personal injury cases (any case worth more than $35,000 under Code of Civil Procedure section 85) are filed in the district where the collision occurred, based on the address and zip code of the crash, and assigned for all purposes to an Independent Calendar department (Local Rule 2.3; Civil Case Cover Sheet Addendum, form CIV 109, reason 4). The Spring Street Personal Injury Hub stopped receiving new personal injury filings on January 8, 2024.
My crash happened on the I-405, I-110, or SR-91 in Carson. Who investigates and how long does the report take?
California Highway Patrol South Los Angeles Area investigates freeway collisions on the I-405, I-110, and SR-91 in the Carson band, including the I-405 at Avalon Boulevard interchange where the October 23, 2024 stopped-vehicle pedestrian fatality occurred. CHP reports take longer than LASD reports – the basic collision report is usually available within 10 business days, but the Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) supplemental report on catastrophic crashes can take six to twelve months. We file the initial report request immediately and track the MAIT release timeline so we are not surprised by late-released physical-evidence findings. For a catastrophic Carson freeway crash we also send a Caltrans freeway-management camera preservation letter within 48 hours because Caltrans purges its rolling camera buffer on a short cycle.
Does Carson have its own police department, or does the Sheriff handle city-street collisions?
Carson does not maintain its own police department and contracts patrol services with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department – the same arrangement Compton, Lakewood, Cerritos, Bellflower, and Norwalk use in our Greater Los Angeles County cohort. LASD Carson Station at 21356 S. Avalon Boulevard, Carson, CA 90745 investigates city-street collisions on Avalon Boulevard, Carson Street, Sepulveda Boulevard, Wilmington Avenue, Main Street, Figueroa Street, Del Amo Boulevard, 213th Street, 223rd Street, and the other Carson arterials. Traffic collision reports are filed through the LASD records system; we request them by case number and date of incident. We have direct working relationships with the LASD Carson records desk and can usually get a Carson report in 7 to 10 business days from request.
I was hit by a port truck or container hauler on Wilmington Avenue, Sepulveda Boulevard, or Carson Street. What evidence do you preserve first?
Commercial truck cases on Carson’s port-feeder arterials require fast spoliation work because the carrier’s records can be lawfully overwritten on a short cycle. Within 72 hours of intake on a Carson commercial-truck case we send a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration spoliation letter to the carrier preserving: the electronic logging device (ELD) data showing hours-of-service compliance under 49 C.F.R. Part 395; the driver qualification file under 49 C.F.R. Part 391; the vehicle maintenance and inspection records under 49 C.F.R. Part 396; post-crash drug and alcohol testing results under 49 C.F.R. Part 382.303; the dashcam and inward-facing camera footage; and the carrier’s roadside inspection history through SAFER and FMCSA Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) data. We also pull the Port of Los Angeles or Port of Long Beach drayage registry records if the truck was running container traffic from the port complex.
How long do I have to file a Carson personal injury claim?
For most Carson personal injury cases against a private party (driver, business, property owner), you have two years from the date of injury to file a lawsuit, under California Code of Civil Procedure 335.1. That said, if any public entity is potentially liable – Caltrans for an I-405, I-110, or SR-91 roadway-design or signage claim, Los Angeles County Public Works for a signal-timing claim on Avalon Boulevard or Carson Street, the City of Carson itself for a sidewalk-defect or public-property hazard claim, or the Port of Los Angeles or Port of Long Beach for a port-roadway claim – California Government Code 911.2 requires a written claim presented to the public entity within six months of the incident. Missing the six-month government-claim deadline ordinarily extinguishes any claim against that public entity, even though the two-year private-party deadline is still open.
Do I need to come to Sherman Oaks to retain Yaghmai Law Firm if I live in Carson?
No. We handle Carson intake remotely by default – phone or text for initial consultation, secure video for client meetings, e-signature for retainer agreements. We send a courier or pick up documents in person if a Carson client has physical paperwork (police reports already received, medical records, prior insurance correspondence) that cannot be scanned. Initial consultations cost nothing, our fees are contingency-only (we are paid out of recovery, not out of pocket), and a Carson client recovering from an I-405, I-110, SR-91, Avalon Boulevard, or Carson Street crash does not have to drive up to our Sherman Oaks office to retain counsel.
